A digital platform in the media and entertainment sector faced a significant strategic hurdle: they lacked the visibility required to understand their "Operational Reality." Task: Architecting a Ground-Up Analytics Foundation
The challenge was to transition from zero visibility to a production-grade analytics system without the overhead of massive proprietary licenses. We needed to architect a stack that could handle complex data flows and turn them into actionable insights for leadership. The goal was to provide technical receipts for every customer interaction, reducing the "Execution Risk" associated with unvalidated engagement strategies.
Architecture: Open-Source Analytics Platform
Supported by our Data Engineering and Data Analytics Centers of Excellence, we engineered a scalable, containerized analytics stack built for precision.
Technical Components:
- Orchestration & Infrastructure: Leveraged VMs and Docker to containerize the environment, using Airflow to orchestrate complex data pipelines.
- Data Transformation Layer: Implemented dbt to normalize user interaction data and build analytics-ready datasets.
- Visualization & Reporting: Integrated Apache Superset to enable interactive dashboards for real-time churn analysis and lifecycle reporting.
