Nerdapalooza

By 2025, Nerdapalooza had truly become the signature Factored tradition, a space where data, AI, and humanity collide in the most joyful ways. Held in Cartagena, Colombia, this edition was the biggest yet, bringing together team members from over 20 countries. We built boats, danced in mosh pits, jammed with colleagues, and celebrated the extraordinary growth of Factored. For many, it was a testament that work is richer and more meaningful when shared with friends who believe in the same mission. The T-shirt design contest became legendary, with designs treated like collector’s items. Nerdapalooza 2025 cemented itself as not only a celebration of our success, but a bold statement about who we are: diverse, creative, and unstoppable together.

The 2024 edition marked a turning point: Nerdapalooza was now a cultural exchange. From Brazilian rhythms to Argentinian rock, from impromptu jam sessions to reggaeton dance floors, music became the language of unity. Our band, The Fellows, rocked with songs that represented multiple countries, while colleagues from across the globe stepped on stage to share their talents. It was proof that Factored’s strength lies beyond our work on AI and data, in how we embrace different perspectives and cultures, side by side.

By 2022, Factored had grown, and so had Nerdapalooza. What started as a promise to celebrate “someday” was now a large-scale production with hundreds of teammates flying in from across Latin America and beyond. That year introduced new traditions, the T-shirt design contest, team-building games, and shared creative challenges that showed just how talented our team is, not just in data and AI, but in art, music, and community. Nerdapalooza 2022 proved that a remote-first company could still build one of the strongest cultures in tech, rooted in friendship, joy, and shared ambition.

The 2021 edition was where Nerdapalooza transformed into a Factored institution. Though small, it carried the raw energy of a startup finding its rhythm. There were live bands, cultural activities, and the now-iconic mix of dancing, jamming, and team bonding. For many, this was the first time meeting colleagues in person after months of remote work due to Covid19. That intimacy gave the event a special glow: it was a celebration of resilience, of making it through difficult times together, and of the friendships that would define Factored’s culture for years to come.
